This latch is heavy-duty, high quality solid brass. New hardware almost never matches the quality of original, but this does, as do other items ordered from here. I love that with Hardwicks I don’t have to call to confirm lacquered vs. unlacquered brass for our preservation projects - it’s spelled out in item descriptions. And if I do need help, I get a real person who knows their products. I love Hardwicks and was thrilled to find out they are here in Idaho.
