Powerful!

I have been learning how to skate on cruiser boards for two years, from mini cruisers to longboards, until I finally saved up for this electric skateboard. My first impressions were mixed as it doesn't really handle much like a cruiser, it is difficult to lift the nose due to the weight (and I feel the tail could have been a little longer), the turning circle is so huge you can't do a U-turn on a regular suburban street (you can if you lift the nose, again not easy) and on poorly constructed sidewalks you can feel the bumps. It absolutely won't grip on grass either (not that it was designed to). In saying all that, it is designed for speed on a smooth surface, and it DEFINITELY does that! I understand that if it was designed to be more maneuverable it would be less stable at speed, so at least for beginner skaters it had to be made the way it is (I may do some modifications once the warranty expires to tweak it to my needs). I live in a very hilly area and this thing on speed setting 2 or more FLIES up steep hills (the main reason I needed a powerful board). A suggestion for others that use it on big hills : read the instructions and set the brake to the highest level as it will not come near to a complete stop on any other setting going down a steep bank. I believe it is the lightest electric skateboard available by far for its power and range, and that was the selling point for me as it is portable and great for going to the local shops for supplies. I'd really like to see an updated controller one day with a larger range of movement for more sensitivity in acceleration and braking and some softer wheels with a little tread to handle semi-offroad (like flat grass) surfaces (something like "cloudwheels") and a bigger tail, but otherwise it's perfect for my needs and awesome fun.
