Tropicana Shirt Sewing Pattern

Beautifully designed and a pleasure to sew

The design and fit on this pattern are wonderful. My measurements are high bust 41 full bust 45, so I made a short-sleeved size 18 (with size 20 sleeves) grading up to 20 at the waisté I was amazed at how well it fit. The pieces came together well, and the top stitching gives it a professional-looking finish. Even the collar, with all the different seams (2 pieces in the raglan sleeves) came together neatly and tidily despite the fact that I used a solid cotton with little stretch. I'm impressed! When I got a bit stuck (the slit for the sleeves), the online sewalong showed very clearly how to proceed and answered all my questions. This is the first WBM pattern I have tried, but I shall definitely make another Tropicana... and other patterns from this designed. A big "wow" from me! I only wish that ALL the WBM designs were available in the paper format. :)

Love this pattern!

This is a really great pattern, well-drafted and the fit was perfect. I used a very light Indian cotton print, and added 2” to the body length for a slightly longer shirt. The collar was a bit tricky and I might do it differently for my next one. There is an instructional video with a slightly different method for the collar I will try. Overall, easy construction and a perfect fit!
