I really wanted to like VIBAe boots. They’re marketed as a versatile shoe that can transition seamlessly from indoor comfort to all-day wear, which is exactly what I was looking for. The design is clean and minimal, and at first glance they feel well-made and thoughtfully constructed. However, in practice, they fall far short of that promise. While they are undeniably comfortable in a soft, slipper-like way, the level of support is much closer to indoor footwear than something built for real daily use. There’s very little structure or stability, and after a few hours on hard surfaces, that lack of support is harmful. In my case, even regular walking in New York City was enough to expose the issue. The constant pavement and longer distances made it obvious these aren’t suitable for everyday urban wear. They actually caused me back pain—something I don’t experience with properly supportive shoes. At this point, the advertising doesn’t just feel optimistic—it feels clearly deceitful.
