Roti-Clean™ Filter

Roti-Clean itself is great but not enough guidance on Roti cultures

The Roti-Clean filter seems to be working great, but I am still not crystal clear about rotifer cultures. I wish Reef Nutrition would provide better guidance on how to start and maintain these cultures. I have already crashed two trying this and…. Heck it’s not cheap. Help!

Roti Clean filter leaked out the back due to incomplete glue seal

I bought several of the Roticlean filters and they have all worked well with only one issue. I had one leak around the seal where they adapted this filter and glued a plastic plate. They all come with this adaptation . It dripped several gallons of my rotifer culture onto the floor until the pump was above the water level. I have since gone back and siliconed all of them around this plastic plug to prevent any future leaks. Other than that, they have worked very well.

A Must Have

I bought this filter as part of a kit sold by Reef Nutrition. I have two aquaculture’s as that’s what was recommended. One backs up the other. Both cultures are thriving however the one with the filter is a lot less maintenance than the other. The water is clean, no green particles floating in the water which greatly helps with the fry tank cleanliness and helps when “counting” the rotifers and straining them. I’ve ordered a second filter for the backup culture.
