LAMY Studio Fountain Pen

​This LAMY Studio was a replacement for my lost, much beloved LAMY Scala pen. The Studio, much to my delight, is a well-balanced, smooth pen that performs better than expected. I do find it's a little heavier, and with the cap on the end, it is a significantly clunkier implement than without. The hand feel, to me, is closer to that of my vintage Shaeffer than to any other LAMY pens I have owned or tried. I also find the LAMY converter cartridge to be one of my leakier models, although it pulls ink smoothly, and dispenses it without issue once installed in the pen. It is functioning beautifully with the Momiji Iroshizuku, as well as the Lamy Blue-Black inks that I have on rotation right now. Nevertheless, I am finding the Studio to be an excellent pen, and of great value for the cost. It has quickly become my daily driver, making it a successful addition to my small collection.

A thoughtfully careful and thoroughly enjoyable experience was had by me when I purchased a new fountain pen at Laywine’s. I look forward to returning there to acquire more supplies for it.
