Splits-ville ... a real pita to work with
This yarn was specified by a patter I purchased. I found the bamboo yarn an utter PITA to work with. I finally gave up and gave it away. Will buy some cotton (or some other blend) and start over with the pattern.
It is indeed very soft & shiny. However it splits like crazy, even when going super-slow and being careful. This stitches also really slide around, so it can be difficult to even count the chains, much less track what you are doing.
I’m hoping I can pull this pattern off with a different yarn…

Difficult to work with
The Truboo yarn is very soft and silky, but I'm finding it difficult to crochet with. The yarn keeps splitting and getting caught in the hook. I'm making a jacket with granny squares, and the end result is beautiful so I will perservere. It might be easier for a knitting project.

Beautiful yarn, very silky
I bought this to make a top and I love the feel of this yarn. It is very silky and drapes beautifully. Per the pattern that I was following, she said that the yarn could work its way out from being woven in. She suggested splitting the fibers in the yarn and knotting them around a stitch in the back, and applying a couple drops of fray stay. That seems to have done the trick. I can’t wait to wear my top all summer. I’ll definitely be making more things with Truboo!
