Heavy duty zipper with heavy fabric
I did some experimenting with different kinds of zippers. The uploaded photo (with the red zipper) shows what happens when the zipper is too lightweight for the fabric. The fabric is stiff, but the zipper tape is thin and doesn't lie flat.
I highly recommend using sturdy Klumhouse zippers when working with heavy fabric, especially waxed canvas. Check out the other uploaded photo (with the white zipper). It's an appropriate weight for the fabric and lies flat.

Brass zippers
Ive been eyeing these zippers for awhile as I needed this size for some small wallets. They are really good quality and makes the wallet look very professional! Much better than what Im able to buy in my community.
Will definitely buy more!
