I was foolish enough to buy the $55 jar of pepper because it was endorsed by the NY Times. I guess being endorsed by the NY Times no longer means anything. There is no distinctness of peppercorns in this blend, its just a drab overall flavor which is no even very spicy. Maybe they’re using a lot of other ingredients as filler. That’s how it comes across. A lot of over-priced hype which makes it seem like the NY Times endorsement was somehow dubious. Stick to Heidiard if you want something exceptional, even if you have to fly to Paris to get some.
