I can't recommend Speedaholic XX yoyos enough. They are the best value I have found. Just buy one. I have 5.

First yoyo in over a decade. Having a great time and pleased with the durability after several floor (and ceiling) strikes.

Everyday Carry and Best Starter Yo-yo
The forums are filled with comparisons of EDC (Everyday Carry) yo-yo’s. For me the Speedaholic XX is my EDC. There is almost always one in my pocket for my lunch break from work. When I go for walks, I’ve often got one on my finger. The Speedaholic FX is my Swiss Army yo-yo, but the idea of its beautiful metal rims getting dinged on concrete is such that I rarely take it outside. Enter the Speedaholic XX – FX’s less expensive mostly plastic cousin. The hub offers a similar degree of fingerspin ease as the FX. While it has less power than the FX, you still have plenty of spintime to land the bind for DNA. It spins smooth for non-fingerspin tricks and is easy to land on the string. Binds are consistent. When I want to learn new tricks, I use my XX. I don’t have to worry about dings, nicks, gouges on one of my precious metal yo-yo’s when I mess up. It also hurts less when I get hit by it. My son recently sparked big yo-yo interest at his school. When his classmates just starting out ask for a recommendation I always tell them Speedaholic XX. It has the ability to be made responsive when you are starting out, and can grow with you when you are ready for more advanced tricks. It’s worth paying the extra $5-10 premium over similarly categorized other throws – save your allowance for just a little longer and get it right the first time. On top of everything, the Speedaholic XX is attractive. C3yoyodesign frequently comes up with beautiful signature colorways for some of the big stars in Yoyodom.
