Supreme Hill Ebony Violin Tailpiece with Pearwood Trim

Beautiful tailpiece

We purchased this one for two reasons. One is because we hoped that it would soften and warm up the cheap violin kit we had gotten that had a metal tailpiece with built-in fine tuners, as it felt that it was not a very smooth sound. I think that it did manage to do that, but the soundpost seems to be a much bigger problem. Two is that it looks fantastic, and being that we're big dorks who love books, including fantasy novels, the fact that the trim is pearwood reminds us of the Discworld series and amuses us more than perhaps it should.
