This is my the 8th fly I have have ever tied. I'm new at this so I haven't used the rotary feature to it's full capacity but can tell it will be handy in time. The vise base is heavy enough so it doesn't move around. I clamped a size 4 and a size 18 hook in the vise and held both very well. It came two plastic bolts that suck. One holds the rotary part of the vice which got broken off in shipping and the other holds the bobbin holder which I had to use in the rotary feature. Like I mentioned, I'm new at this so I can't compare it with anything similar, but it's a many times better than the one I used in the fly tying class.
