Great game!

Gorgeous production with just enough going on

The theme of Arnak lends itself to great artwork, but overall it could be re-themed as something totally different. Gameplay itself is pretty easy to understand and the variety of artifacts and items is really what makes the deck building work. The deck building in this one isn't really per the classic mechanic since you won't cycle through your deck very often throughout the gameplay. Early turns are very quick with limited potential actions but then later turns have a significant ramp up in tension and decision making. I think this one earns the hype as a fun game that is involved enough to hold your attention, but doesn't overstay its welcome. When you head into the last turn, it always feels like the end game crept up very quickly! I kind of wish the "overcoming guardians" action felt more like battling or subduing the guardian vs just paying them resources to leave you alone. Great game!
