That darn thumb safety shroud

Bought this for my S/A TRP with iron sights only. I am super happy with the quality, just like all my other Safariland products. My only gripe is with the extraction of the firearm because of the way the ALS system interfaces with the the thumb safety shroud. I have ALS holsters for my Glocks and I don't encounter the same struggle to manipulate the ALS lever. I will likely have to cut off the thumb safety shroud and add a nub to make my draw reliable. I wish the design was the same as the ALS holster for the optics mounted pistols- they don't have the thumb safety shroud. I realize all the R&D is moving to support the 2011 hotness, and I understand that. Hopefully we see a resurgence of the 1911 and holster support if the manufacturers offer more of them in 9mm. All in all, Safariland is my go-to holster choice.
