Texture changes

I started out using this lip balm and it was fairly nice. Smooth and soft. But I noticed a couple issues. First, it melts quite easily and you end up swiping more on than intended, and it kind of seeps off your lips so that around your mouth and looks and feels oily. 2nd, after a while of using it, the stick turns gritty. Like theres sand or something in it. I even stopped using 1 and tried a new 1 in case it was maybe my fault. But so far, 3 sticks in, and they all do it. Its uncomfortable to rub sandy oily lip balm on my lips at any time of day. Is there an issue with my lip balm? Maybe heating during transit ruined the molecular composition? I dont know. But I have a couple new sticks i can try, just in case.
