The filling taste is OK, but I cant stand the beef collagen casing. I frequently cook my sausage in broth instead of pan frying or baking, and the collagen casing gets slimy and gelatinous. The mouth feel of a piece of this is so disgusting it causes an immediate and undeniable urge to spit it out. I get (and agree) that pork casing is undesirable by many, and that the non-meat casings are not very good, but there must be an acceptable alternative for dishes where I don't want to remove the casing and use loose sausage (which I sometimes do) or go to the trouble of grilling whole sausages or dirtying another pan.
