The sound I was looking for... : - )

I have been playing humbucker guitars my entire life. I finally purchased two single-coil guitars over the past year. A Sire Strat-style guitar and an inexpensive KGD Tele-style guitar. The Sire pickups are quiet and sound good. The cheap Chinese KGD pickups with the cheap control panel electronics was noisy and muddy. And if I added boost or a driver to the mix, the buzzing sound was beyond tolerable. For that reason alone, the guitar stayed hung on the wall. I threw that Chinese garbage in the trash and installed a set of Dylan's Telecaster pickups and new control panel. Absolutely, night and day comparison. The pickups are quiet with or without boost/drive and the Telecaster twang I was looking for came alive. All three pickup configurations sound fantastic. However, I am blown away at how good the neck pickup alone sounds. Whoever thought that a bobbin wound with wire could be made in such a way that it surpasses other similarly wound bobbins. But it does. I now have a Telecaster style guitar that I can enjoy. Thank you... : - )

T-style upgrade kit - feedback

Really great pickups! Definite improvement in tone that I was looking for! My only issue was with the multi contact jack. Inserting and removing guitar cables was difficult. It was a very tight fit. It didn't take very long to get my guitar cable jack stuck in there and it took some brute force to remove it. Replaced it with a regular spare jack I had. All is good now.
