I already had the coil. However I did add it into my purchase just in case I had the wrong one already on the engine.

1972 F250, 360, 4speed, 4x4. I bought the 1281 kit and the 40111 coil. I’ve been running the truck for over 11 years with the points that were in it from the previous owner and it was in deep need of a tune up. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and cleaned the carb. This coil seems to deliver good spark. It starts and runs much better. I think it has to do with the complete tune up. The old plugs and points were in really bad shape. But I think the electronic ignition definitely makes a difference. I had to bypass the pink resister wire as it was only allowing 6 volts to the coil and this set up requires more than that. I use to have a 68 F100 with a 360. I used a yellow brand kit in that one and it worked fine. Getting rid of the points really helps. Time will tell if this kit lasts. I’m not worried. I will keep a set of points in the truck in case I need a roadside fix. I would recommend this modification as it delivers a much more consistent spark and helps the truck run more smoothly and helps on cold starts.

Excellent decision to change to these coils' engines have never run this well, and start so much easier.
