Taper candles did not have the clean burn I hoped for.

I like the long burn time of the taper candles. I have been using beeswax taper candles, because I am told they are clean burning candles, but they turn my candle snuffer black inside and out.They also smoke, when the flame is distinguished. I will probably keep using them, because they don't contain paraffin.I just hoped for a cleaner burning candle.
