Prestolite IBM Series 6 Cylinder Ignitor® II Electronic Ignition Conversion - 12 Volt Negative Ground - PerTronix 91563B

I replaced the points in my boat but it wasn't running correctly, I think the points were jumping. I purchased a PerTronix conversion kit and it was not correct so I called and spoke with a tech and he talked me through getting the correct one and returning my old one. The new kit fit perfectly and the boat is running great!

Runs great, seems to have better take off and top end, not sure about the OMC shift harness, seems to not drop the RPM when it shifts, the shift module worked prior to installing the kit, I can depress the switch that’s on the throttle bracket and the engine doesn’t stumble like it did with the points sys, from what I’ve read up on this kit, I most likely will have to purchase a new shift module from CDI, not real happy about this, the wire harness kit is supposed to work, I don’t understand why you can’t make a kit that doesn’t need a self made harness, if this harness is needed, it should be offered along with the kit from pertronics !

Installed easily in a marine application and works great. Make sure to follow the instructions for checking distributor plate ground and coil voltage. On my marine application years of corrosion had caused grounding and low coil voltage conditions that had to be corrected during installation.
