Great day fishing with the Ku’uipo team

Captain and crew were exceptional. Well organized along with being thoughtful kind and engaging with our grandkids. We all had one of those “best day fishing ever” experiences. Captain Kevin’s experience had us on the fish starting with the kids having fun catching bait fish. Not long after we were hooking into some nice Mahi Mahi and the bonus of a great Blue Marlin! A day our family will always remember.

Sweetheart Deal!

We chartered the Ku’uipo/Sundowner sister boat for a full day of fishing and we got our money’s worth! Captain Kevin was ready to go, right on time. We told him that we wanted tuna for the day and he told us what to expect. We motored out of the harbor and stopped off to catch live bait. The mate was happy to teach us how to set up the rigs when we asked. We quickly caught enough bait for the whole day. Then we headed out to find tuna. The captain had us on the tuna within an hour of leaving the harbor. We spent the entire day catching one tuna after another. We were exhausted from catching so many fish by the end of the day (16 between 30-70#). The captain filleted the tuna that we wanted and was happy to give us more than we could eat during the rest of our stay on the island. It made amazing sashimi. These guys worked their butts off to make sure we had a first class experience! It was absolutely the highlight of our 10-day trip to Hawaii. We would 100% go back to Hawaii just to fish with these guys again. Check out the attached video that the mate made for us at the end of the day! We tipped them 35% and still felt like we got the better end of the deal.

Kevin asked what we'd like to fish for and we spent some time catching uku and amberjack, then moved on to trolling for marlin (hooked one but it got off).
