This luxurious, handcrafted rug is the perfect size and color for our living room setting. The rug has a velvety smoothness that invites you to take off your shoes and come in. It creates a calm, soft atmosphere, where we can relax while watching TV, reading a book or having a conversation.

Beautiful rug, weird shipping

We're very happy with the look and feel of this rug. As other reviewers noted, the black and white stripes come through more clearly than in the pictures, which looks wonderful. It's thick and soft and clearly high-quality. But, as other reviewers also noted, it is shipped in such a way that there are what seem to be permanent bumps and large wrinkles in the rug, giving it a messy look. We've laid the heaviest books we own on the bumps for over 3 weeks to try to smooth them out, and while some are gone, some seem like they won't go away. Plastic-free packaging is appreciated, but for how much we paid for this rug, I'd rather have some plastic and get a rug shipped in a roll, rather than weirdly folded and plopped into a box where it got jumbled and crushed during shipping. There's a reason rugs get transported in rolls.
