I have used this embroidery pattern for a monstrance cover. The monstrance is 5 feet tall, and the cover is about 31 inches. I used a 9.5 x 14" hoop. So, the 8 inch embroidered icon looks nice in the middle. It looks professional. My embroidery machine allows color changes, so I changed thread colors to coordinate with the liturgical fabric. I also changed the color of the roses in the center to red. The priest mentioned that he really liked the added icon in the center. I think the extra effort helps make the cover complete, perhaps even more spiritual.
