It is very helpful when testing for TDS and temperature prior to putting fresh water into the U1 filtration system. I also do a before and after test for various chemicals with a test kit I purchased elsewhere. Combined with the TDS testing device, i feel confident that my water is properly filtered. I'm very lucky to have a low TDS count for my fresh water.

I already had a similar meter that was included free with a filter pitcher but the one RKIN offers seemed more robust and also reports water temperature, useful data for when I cook. The other meter will now go into the camper to check n campsight water, but the RKIN will be kept on hand in my kitchen.
