I used several other verities of double edge blades since I started using a true wet shave razor however after using varies blades & not getting the shave, I wanted I switched to Gillette blades. I have since used Gillette double edge blades exclusively. I have a Gillette Super Slide (1953 clam shell style designation Y) razor and haven't had any issue with these blades giving me the closeness of shave that I want. If you use an older style of Gillette razor, I recommend using Gillette blades for the best result.
