I installed the brace on brand new bike it was difficult to get the 2 bolts in and after success by forcing the shaft over a few thousandth i tightened screws and found the bikes shifter not cooperating with basic shifting couldn't change gears easily. I removed the brace and drilled out the bolt holes to 17/64 I believe, reinstalled with ease and now it shifts fine.
