Ecoflo Dyes are different than stains in that they penetrate more, but we sadly hate using them because the stain dries around the top of the bottle and then when you unscrew the cap, tiny flakes fly around in the air, landing on your other pieces, unseen until you apply color to something and suddenly a speck of green appears out of nowhere in the middle of your solid tan piece. It can be very frustrating, it happens even if we change the paper underneath, keep other pieces far away, etc. The dye particles are just so tiny and get so dusty when dry— water stains, on the other hand, get sticky when they dry, so there’s no risk of dust. Also, while the color is more vibrant, it’s very challenging to apply evenly, because it soaks in so much.
