Overcast here means you may get blinding sun shining through throughout the day. A full tinted lens is too dark but a clear lens means you may get blinded at a really bad time. The fade on these makes it optimal for this type of condition. It allowed me perfect, clear view I'm the cloudy condition, but able to block the sun that randomly streaks through.
