Armor-Dilloz/Slime (green) direct comparison
My co-worker and I both bought new Varla Pegasus e-scooters for work and we both blew out a tire in the first week. I had no experience with repairing tires, so, after reading about what to do and asking Varla, everyone seemed to agree that tire sealant was the way to go. Somehow, I stumbled on Armor-Dilloz and ordered some. Using the chart on the website to estimate how much to put into each tire (there was no recommendation for our specific scooters, so we estimated based on scooters with similar specs), I set about removing the valve cores. The instructions suck, and the core removal tool is designed in a confusing way, so I broke it, never having used one. Search the internet on how to use the tool before using it. The bottle was only big enough to fill two tires. We had two scooters, which equals four tires. Since there wasn't enough product and I'd broken my core removal tool, I went to the auto parts store to get a new tool and more sealant. I bought the green Slime that some people recommended online and a stout, intuitive core removal tool. Turns out that removing the valve core is very easy. Once we got that done, I added the the Armor-Dilloz, replaced the valve cores, spun the wheels a little bit and aired them up. I tried to do all of that as quickly as possible, because they don't say in the instructions (they suck) if timing matters, but it seems like it might. Like magic, the tires held air and I was off to the races with a little bit of Armor-Dilloz remaining. On my co-worker's scooter, we used the Slime under the same procedure. His flat tire DID NOT seal! It's really hard to tell how much you're putting into each tire, so you just have to guess, so maybe we didn't put enough in, but we decided to add the little bit of remaining Armor-Dilloz to his flat tire and it sealed right up!
I gave the Armor-Dilloz five stars because it worked as well as anyone could hope and seemed to directly beat the Slime. However, it isn't all rainbows and butterflies. The Armor-Dilloz is twice as expensive for one quarter of the amount of Slime. That's EIGHT TIMES as expensive. The core removal tool they send with it is garbage. The instructions are garbage. Once you've gone through the process of figuring out how to use it, the actual product is excellent.
