Siloxa-Tek® 8505

8505 on a driveway

It’s a little early to have the full results but the driveway was rained on about 30 hours after I put down the 8505 and the water beaded up and didn’t penetrate. That’s a good sign. Time will tell how long it iasts.

Went further than I thought.

I built a garage so fresh concrete. The guys that poured the concrete said the price included a sealer. They used SpecChem LithSeal and after my research its just a concrete densifier and harder. I noticed it didnt "seal" from water or anything. I reached out to Ghostshield and told them what I had if the 8505 or 8510 would be compatible with whats already on the concrete short answer they said they didnt know. So I bought a small test bottle of 8505 to test. It worked and great so I bought the 8505 concentrate. The calculator said I would need 7 gallons to do all my concrete. I did it all with the 4 gallons mixed not sure if it's because the lithseal so I used less or what but it seems to work great and I am happy with it since I only bought 1 gallon of concentrate. I used the following: Siloxa-Tek 8505 Penetrating Water, Salt, and Oil Repellent Siloxa-Tek 4500 Densifier and Hardener SIloxa recommended the use of 4500 as a primer so I followed their recommendation since I wanted the best oil repellent I could get. The concrete for my driveway was placed in July 2019. I applied these products in April 2023. I recently had an oil spill occur. I poured mineral spirits on the spill and let it soak overnight. Then I pressure washed using a bit of Dawn detergent. The oil stain was well removed. The washed area was discolored a little but not very noticeable. I was pleased at the result. This product performs very well in my opinion. The darkest spot in the photo is unwashed oil. The area below is where I washed the main spill.
