These are sharp and cut my thick big toe nails with ease - a little at a time. I’ve downgraded the star rating because I find the latch mechanism infuriatingly awkward to operate. As a retired mechanical engineer I know my way around metalwork but trying to open the latch in the first instance was way too difficult; even after judicious oiling and operating they are still not as easy as I think they could be. They feel good in the hand and the cutting action is superb.
