The Coconut Buddie should be renamed to Coconut Wizard. It truly is amazing and works as easily and effectively as the video demonstration. After watching the video on the website, I thought I could achieve the same result with a flat blade spatula. While the spatula worked well enough in removing the flesh in bits and pieces, it wasn’t flexible enough to get right underneath the coconut flesh. The metal blade also cut into the coconut flesh effectively chopping it up instead of just removing it from the shell. I bought the Coconut Buddie (3 actually in case I broke it) to see whether it worked better than the spatula and I was really surprised at how easily and how much flesh came out in one sweep. I honestly am delighted by how well it works. It only takes a couple of uses to perfect the technique. The secret is in the flexibility of the tool and how well it moulds to the inside of the coconut shell. I highly recommend this product to anyone who uses a lot of fresh coconuts.

Great product for removing the flesh from a young coconut. It could be slightly more flexible to prevent the brown parts of the inner coconut shell from coming off with the flesh but it is the best that I have found so far. Perhaps, over time, it will soften up and become more flexible.
