Ref pants a bit lacking

The tail gate protector is too long and because it is attached to the inseam it hangs down too low and rattles between the upper thighs. My wife shortened it and raised it up to the beltline after removing the lower stitching. The hip pads do not line up with the most vulnerable part of the hip.
