Been messing with cheap, plastic reels for too long. When I first started flyfishing, read somewhere that a reel is just a place to store your line. That author was casting and catching 10-inch trout. For 15-20-inch "slabs" in big rivers and fast current, a quality reel with a quality drag system is demanded. Check those off with the Sage Spectrum. First time out was epic big fish day with great performance.
