Look no further…

…This is all you need to mount an awning to your factory Toyota 4runner rack. Back footing pops off, slide these bad boys in, and voila. I spent weeks wondering if I needed to upgrade my roof rack for $1k. Saw these brackets name dropped on the awning site thinking it couldn’t be meant for me. Then I saw them on Reddit.
