Solved the problem!

This kit and the clear instructions made it possible to restore my aging Kodak projector to working order with minimal stress. The instructions were very clear and the only point I found at all confusing was reinstalling the solenoid, but I was able to find the slot and then was able to convince myself to push hard enough to seat the new plastic piece down into the slot. I was happy that I had taken note of the instruction to note the position of the solenoid before disassembly as it meant that no fiddling was required to get it to work properly once reassembled ;-) Also, I will note that I learned by experiment that if you don't have a spring hook, a pair of curved tip foreceps can be used to achieve the same results. All-in-all it was a very satisfying experience to be able to repair instead of replace.
