Sailor Manyo Nadeshiko - Ink Sample

Problematic

I was so excited to try a sample of this ink....but, it turned out to be problematic. Loaded into a clean Pilot Metro with a medium italic nib, thinking it would really show off the color. But the performance was very poor. It kept railiroading, even though it wrote kinda wet. I still had some left in the sample vial, so I tried it with my new Pilot Iro-Utsushi Dip Pen (from Goulet) and it was skipping, even right after a fresh dip into the ink (both script, and with carefully printed letters). I don't understand why it was so difficult to work with. It's a very lovely shade, though.

A fun ink!

I really like purple and torqoise undertone of the ink, however it tends to run a little dry and can make your nib feel scratchy on certain paper.
