Disappointed in the clasp

My daughter was very excited to receive this necklace. I have been trying to get her to stop putting her hair, coat, and other non-edible objects in her mouth when she is bored or tired. By day 2 of this necklace, she chewed the clasp and now in will no longer connect into a necklace. she doesn't like it now that it isn't something she can wear. Disappointed that the clasp is not silicone too. For a necklace made for chewing, I would have expected every part of the necklace to be chewable.
