Stradpet on Mezzo Forte Evo violin

Hi, in a previous review of the Stradpet Titanium Tailpiece I installed the titanium tailpiece on a Fiddlerman Concert violin. It seemed such a waste putting such an expensive tailpiece on a student level violin so I replaced the tailpiece on the Concert with a Boxwood Harp tailpiece. The result of the Harp on the Concert is excellent. So what to do with the Stradpet? I have a Mezzo Forte EVO violin with Fiddlerman strings where the sound didn't seem full and balanced from G to E. As an experiment, the Wittner tailpiece of the Mezzo Forte EVO was replaced with the Stradpet titanium tailpiece. I was surprised to hear such a sound change. The sound is richer, fuller and very well balanced with the Stradpet. The Stradpet tailpiece made quite a difference for my Mezzo Forte EVO. Interesting that the carbon fiber violin, Carbon-Klang, is shown with a boxwood tailpiece. A light brown tailpiece on a black violin? Bizarre. IMO anything to improved the carbon fiber violin sound. IMO the improvement in sound quality using the Stradpet Titanium Tailpiece is something more than just weight. Some tailpiece weights: Wittner (Mezzo Forte EVO) 14.8g Stradpet Titanium 12g Boxwood Harp 8g Am I suggesting that using the Stradpet Titanium Tailpiece will improve your violin's sound? Not at all. But it is worthy of experimentation, especially on carbon fiber violins. Regards, Richard

Stradpet tailpiece

I purchased this tailpiece for an experiment, to determine if I could liven up the tone of a carbon fiber violin. Yes! Slight but noticable increase both in the depth of sound, and a positive increase in overall resonance of the instrument. The tailpiece itself is very well made. It looks like a miniature Eiffel Tower on the violin! Installation was very easy. And bravo to Fiddlershop for getting it to me in under a week!

I am really happy with this titanium tailpiece. I tested it's performance or the improvement happens to my violin's sound, volume and quality in caparison to, harp model ebony, boxwood and a compaset Wittner tail pieces. After a careful study I found the Stradpet Titanium Violin Tailpiece's performance is the best. I would recommend this to anyone. Infact I already have. Thanks. Sudesh
