Love the easy access but too wide and oversized

Got these for my 11 year old, I love love the easy access! Its literally saved us from countless overwhelms already. Getting dressed as well as getting out the door is always a little too much, and this is changing our lives by helping out with that overwhelm. However the width on the foot is too wide, which means they aren't that supportive and they seem oversized for what the size charts say. Im considering buying a size down and waiting until she grows into these.
