wonderful for its specific purpose

This timer does what it says it does, and well. The company is honorable - my first one was defective, and they immediately sent me a replacement which has functioned perfectly. The functionality of the design is well-thought out. The chimes are wonderful to use for client sessions as a coach or therapist. Also good for pomodoro work/rest sessions, yoga stretch / change pose sessions, HIIT workouts, just about anything you time. Note that on the enso-only view, when you hold down a button to make distracting numbers go away so you just see the enso going around, the word 'enso' at the top, which is visually distracting, does NOT go away. It would be much more zen if we had only the circle going around there; with the word enso the visual noise remains. The screen is a bit dark - not fond of the gray LED coloring background, but perhaps that is the only option for digital that current technology allows. Surprisingly, it's actually easy and intuitive to program all the functions. I thought it would be intricate and require much study but it's actually easy. note: this is not effective as a visual timer for ADHD. I tested that out and the enso that goes around, while visible, is too low-contrast to be helpful. At a glance you don't really feel that you know how much time is left the way you do with a time timer. But it works for everything else. I also wish they had a version that was cream and tan instead of white and gray, which would make it feel earthier - this one definitely clashes with natural earthy or wabi sabi meditation altars, whereas if it were cream it would fit in nicely. But perhaps that would clash too much with the dark gray screen. Overall, the low contrast between the gray screen and black numbers is the the only real problem this timer has. It really is a bit hard to see when you glance up.
