Easy one handed operation (left hand),I push down with my thumb and push out, that locks the 3 step lock in the unlocked position, you can switch to your right hand or whatever you need to do with the carabiner, when you pull back and release it locks back into the 3 step position. The best 3 step I’ve tried.
