Body Armor Lightweight SAPI Plates- Level IV (26300)

Good, but slightly heavy

The Hoplite 26300 Lightweight SAPI Plates Level IV are slightly heavier than advertised. The plates are advertised as either 5.5lbs and 0.95in thick or 5.75lbs and 0.8in thick for a size Medium depending on where you look on the Hoplite website. When my order showed up I measured and weighed them. They weighed in at an average of 6.13lbs each and were 1.0in thick. I understand that some variation in weight is expected due to the manufacturing process, but being anywhere from 0.38 to 0.63lbs overweight (depending on which spec you are using) is a lot for a plate that costs $1,575.00 each when ordered as a pair. Customer service was fast and helpful when asking questions and ordering.
