A detailed course on control and submission from the mount top
Objective of the instructional Andre states that this instructional has been developed to teach “offensive strategies from the mount position, so that you can develop a better understanding of fundamental Jiu Jitsu”. Content Volume 1 (1 hour 8 minutes) covers controlling and maintaining the mount and commences teaching simple submissions from the mount top including Americana lock, basic armbar, and introduces chaining submissions - Americana lock to armbar and armbar to triangle choke. The coverage on controlling and maintaining the mount (a 26 minute chapter) is excellent and achievable for the ordinary mortal. From what I have learnt from this instructional has really helped me control opponents and to be more confident in the mount top position. Teaching this approach to control to my friends has also assisted them to significantly improve their ability to control their opponent when they are in the mount top position as well. Volume 2 (1 hour 18 minutes) covers submissions from the S mount (armbars and triangle traps), kata gatame strangle, several chained attacks (kata gatame to triangle, Americana to straight armlock and Americana to S mount armbar) and detailed coverage of the guillotine choke. Volume 3 (1 hour 13 minutes) covers further submissions including kimura, squat armbar, omaplata, rollanplata (i.e. a submission if the opponent tries to roll out of an omaplata) and several back takes including submissions. Volume 4 (1 hour 3 minutes) covers more submissions including a wristlock, the tornado armbar and understanding chaining submission attacks including concepts, variations and tips for training. Andre is an excellent and confident instructor. He speaks clearly, is engaging and knowledgeable. This instructional is so much more than just teaching the mechanics of the techniques. He teaches all the details, the why, the consequences, the likely responses from the opponent and insights into his thinking with the goal to get a “nice” submission. As you would expect Andre demonstrates the technique at a slow pace, repeats at different angles and then performs the technique at speed. Importantly when discussing the submissions, he shows the various options and variations that can be used with the submission. Clearly doing this takes more time, but in my opinion, it is a good use of time. Sound and picture quality are good. The angles of the technique displayed are appropriate. The total length of the instructional is 4 hours and 42 minutes long. I strongly recommend this instructional for people that wish to improve their ability to control and maintain mount top; learn a range of practical and effective submissions; and then learn how to chain them together to ensure that they can submit their opponent from mount top. This recommendation applies to both Gi and No-Gi players.

Clean fundamentals
Good variety of basic to intermediate submissions and techniques from mount. Instruction is clear, detailed, and shown from multiple angles. Andre is a legend in the sport and it goes to show that the fundamentals are king.

Great
This instruction covers many aspects about the ability to finish from the mount. I love having different perspectives on the position and how to maintain and win from these positions. I recommend this to anyone looking to improve
