Meeting with my first SYE watch: MOT1ON Chronograph Silver.
Unboxing.
The packaging is very qualitative: black bubble envelope stamped with the SYE logo, pretty box with a peach skin touch protected by a solid overbox illustrated by the brand's iconic biker. The box is closed by a magnetic shutter that opens on a first floor on which the watch, the locking plate, the screw and the Fastback tool appear. The bottom drawer contains the leather strap equipped with a very neat folding buckle. This bracelet, at the heart of the SYE system, is sumptuous: luxurious, excellently executed and luxurious in appearance.
It has so far been a rewarding experience, a flawless real worthy of a large watch house.
The watch.
After the installation phase of this beautiful bracelet on the case, the watch naturally finds its place on the wrist with great ease. In use, the comfort is remarkable.
Under the sapphire crystal with its high-performance anti-reflective treatment there is much to discover and say. The first impression is to have in your hands a piece much more expensive than it is.
Despite its greedy shapes, the case is compact. Very worked, it elegantly mixes neat, polished and brushed finishes. Wider on its base, and despite a thickness of 13 mm, the watch slides without difficulty under a sleeve. The fusion of the case with its bracelet is remarkable, all in roundness and in a perfect continuity from leather to steel.
The dial is teeming with details while being perfectly balanced, the design work is very successful. Here we like to play with light, whether it's the applied and meticulously facetted indexes or the captivating vertical brushed tray. The sub-dials are discreet but present, the 24-hour one being subtly divided into two parts, day and night. The hands of the chronograph, of a very beautiful blue, harmoniously animate the whole. This choice of signature colours is quite relevant, in perfect harmony with the whole, it is subtly included in the text "1/5 CENTRAL SECOND" at the bottom of the dial. The whole thing is framed by the highlight of the tachymetric scale which has the good taste of being slightly inclined and of the same shade as its environment.
In summary, I am very happy with this discovery that exceeds my expectations. I feel enthusiastic, at the beginning of a lasting relationship that will grow as I look at him and as his bracelet skates.
Thank you and congratulations to Arnaud Pézeron and his team who did a remarkable job! My first SYE will become a reference in my collection, it will certainly call for others.
