Excellent option

Had considered briefly using a style that required welding, was fortunate enough to bump into this as an alternative. I can weld, I have to weld at work frequently enough but to weld thin gauge metal requires a wire feed welder at a minimum, something that won’t just blow a hole through the pipe and I don’t own a welder. With this clamp on style all you need is either a reciprocating saw or angle grinder with a cut off wheel and a ratchet and sockets to install the clamps. There are several tutorials that show the procedure on YouTube, the reciprocating saw is easier to use because of the clearance issues and as a bonus you don’t need a shield and face mask to use it unlike the grinder. And you really should use a face shield at a minimum should you use the grinder instead of a saw.
