Nice strong smell but not long lasting

I bought this for my husband to use after swimming. He’s used it once but I couldn’t really smell it on him. It’s a nice masculine fragrance but not what I’m looking for. His favourite fragrance is the original Gucci pour homme which is no longer available. Any suggestions from you would be greatly appreciated.
