Beautiful and excited to start

Hello! I am so excited about our new beautiful system! We have new pods ready to put into our Aeva, but a few are too small still. I'm curious about what will happen if I run the pump/water with open pods spaces?

My Experience

We’ve had the Aeva close to a year now and it’s beautiful. At first the lettuce seeds were sprouting and growing like clock work, but after the initial grow they all have been duds. They were sealed up with the rest of my outdoor seeds so not sure what happened. As far as the unit, it’s truly a work of art. Our experience though is no matter how we rotate the lights the plants tend to grow very “leggy” and not as full. The initial grow was the best using Just Verticals seeds, and we’ve had less luck with other seeds. It’s like there is too much space between the plants and the light and they reach for it and it dims the results. About 5 months after we got the unit you all pre-released the larger capacity unit where the lights are in front across the plants. I personally feel like this is a more efficient design or perhaps the smaller version where the lights are closer. While this is a beautiful unit, from our experience we’d opt for a smaller version or because we love salads and greens, try the larger version with greater capacity and hopefully better growth due to the lighting. Definitely grateful for all the care and true service Just Vertical puts into what they are doing. I had several calls with them early on to dial in the setup and work through things I was missing in the guide. There is always going to be evolution in anything and it’s great to feel like everyone’s working together to bring out the best.

So far, my Aeva is amazing. Everything is still growing and hasn't reached maturity yet, but the plants are all growing so fast. Faster than I've seen when grown outside. The design is amazing as well.
