Concord Grape and Burnt Copper Pearl Dip

This was a lot of fun for me, I've never done anything like this before and although mistakes were made, I learned a ton and can't wait to do this again. The colors were better than I could have hoped for, and I have been getting a lot of compliments on how the truck looks now. Really want to do another car now... It wasn't that hard to do, although my paint was bad enough that I had the truck stripped to bare metal, then primed it (that was the real pain) and applied the Dip right over the primer, although it's only been a month or two now, there is no sign of anything going wrong painting the Dip over primer. One note, at one point I accidentally knocked over the paint gun and although I thought I had cleaned it up thoroughly, I missed one small port on the top, under the foam insert, which caused me some havoc in subsequent coats. The port I missed, that got semi clogged with paint, was the air charging port for the paint cup so my paint for the next two coats came out a little dry and in spots looks like i threw sand at the car before I painted, which I believe is called "popcorning". Although there are spots that I see with the popcorn I can live with my results this time around as this was my first time doing anything like this and on the next dip project I will definitely know better.

Great all inclusive kit. Everything was easy to use and the diy videos were helpful. Only issue I had was peeling the tape off after my last coat. You really need to spray the tape sections that are close to the body and immediately peel the tape off. I waited until I was finished with the last coat and everything had dried so quickly I got some breaking of the dip. Also have a few small areas of really textured dip, not sure what I was doing wrong there, but it’s barely noticeable. Overall car looks great! I have my brothers looking into dipping their cars now and I will definitely be dipping mine again.
