Loving it! I created one of my most creative photos ever right out of the gate.

Lensbaby Velvet 85

I have fallen in love with this lens so much so that I have completed the whole set. Since receiving the Lensbaby Velvet 85 I have spent a lot of time getting reacquainted with my creativity and pushing my boundaries which was something I had needed for a while now. I continue to experiment and put the lens through it's paces. There is however definitely a learning curve when you are not using it with a mirrorless camera and don't have the benefit of focus peaking. I've also been experimenting with the differences between a full frame dslr and a crop sensor dslr. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future brings.

The Artistic Touch

The velvet 85 is truly a must have for anyone who wants to shoot images with an artistic glow and blur around the sweet spot. The subtle blending around the primary focus is such a nice effect and makes the image look more like a painting than just a snapshot. The lens becomes very easy to use after a little practice and experimentation. It helped me get my creative groove going and my images started to get many more favorable comments . My photo outings became much easier because of the lens versatility. I cut down on the weight of a my camera bag because I started to just go out on shooting adventures with only this lens. It allowed my the opportunity to crawl into tighter spots be cause it is lighter weight and smaller than most of the other lenses I used to carry along for versatility And the 85mm focal length along with the macro capability of this lens added a great combination to my ability to artistically capture the beauty of the floral and landscape scenery that I love to capture, explore and share with my followers.
